BEHIND THE SCENES

I started Mom’s Rock; a 503-©Non-Profit Organization to benefit parents who have the responsibility of caring for a child/(ren) who have a terminally ill disease, disability or special need.

My husband, Ishmael and I have a son Yeshua aka Rock, who is dealing with a terminally ill disease called Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). He was diagnosed at the age of 4. The disease claimed the life of his uncle, David Jackson in 2001 at the young age of 19.

The disease results in progressive loss of strength, problems also include loss of ambulation, and issues related to the heart and lungs. We are holding on to hope as we continue searching for a cure for him. Our son is the inspiration for starting Mom’s Rock.

We are focusing on giving back through monthly support group meetings as well as family events throughout the year. In addition, Mom’s Rock host's an annual Free Dinner and Giveaway. Parents will come be uplifted and encouraged.

Here at Moms Rock, we want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 2015, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our Nonprofit upon: support, empowerment, and Hope.
